Hau Wei Ng has 20 years of large rail and underground infrastructure construction experience and has worked on renown tunnelling projects such as the SMART project (the world's first stormwater and traffic dual purpose tunnel and the world's biggest slurry TBM at the time). He was head for tunnelling on KVMRT 1 & 2 (Malaysia's first and second metro tunnel projects and among the single largest tunnelling contract globally at the time). He also constructed Southeast Asia's longest rail (non-metro) tunnel, the Berapit Tunnel. He led the development of prominent innovations, namely the world's first Variable Density Slurry Tunnel Boring Machine and the Autonomous Tunnel Boring Machine system. Both innovations won the Innovation of the Year award from the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) respectively in 2014 and 2019. He is the Director for Tunnelling for Gamuda Australia.
