Yves Boissonnas has 30 years of experience in tunnel projects. He worked for 10 years as site manager with a contractor before changing to the designer for 16 years. Since January 2017 he has been working for Sika.

As a contractor between 1991 and 2000 Yves Boissonnas worked on different tunnel projects in Switzerland for Walo Bertschinger AG. Before joining the designer as project manager, he worked for one year as a technical adviser for fibers in concrete with Synthetic Industries. From 2001 until 2016 he was the project manager for Amberg Engineering AG. He participated in major projects such as the Gotthard base tunnel as project manager of the Faido section, a metro project in Brussels, the Lyon–Turin Base Tunnel, the tunnel project across the strait of Gibraltar, the Follo Line Tunnel in Oslo, the road tunnel crossing under the Suez Canal in Egypt and various other tunnel projects around the world.

At present, Yves Boissonnas works in the global key owner and specifier team at Sika Services AG.

He has a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.
