The ITACET Foundation recently cooperated with the International Road Federation (IRF) to organise a training session in Dubai on Tunnel Safety Management for the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai. The speakers were Catherine Larive from the Centre for Tunnel Studies in France and Philippe Fenain, a senior consultant on road infrastructure management, currently in Barcelona.
The training spanned 3 days and covered subjects ranging from the ‘Principles of tunnel operation’, ‘Infrastructures, equipment and control systems’, ‘Incidents and crisis management’ to ‘Anticipating future tunnel safety needs’, to name but a few.
The participants, though from coming from various roles and positions within the RTA, were highly engaged throughout the training.
