ITACET training course at the WTC in Shenzhen!
This year’s course at the WTC was held over two days on 19th- 20th April and focused on ‘Efficient and modern tunnelling’. This training session, supported by the ITACET Foundation, took place at the World Exhibition & Convention Center in Shenzhen.
The aim of the training session was to provide the participants with knowledge of project management, contractual practices and modern tunnelling methods and equipment. The session was aimed at both young and senior engineers as well as university students.
The training session was opened by the ITACET Foundation President, Mr Michel Deffayet, who presented the role of the Foundation and the importance of education in the tunnelling industry. The lecturers then kicked off with the essentials for efficient management of a tunnel project and continued with a look at contractual practices during the afternoon session. The second day started with a look at the latest developments in drill and blast equipment, whilst specific technical issues of mechanised tunnelling were developed in the afternoon session.
When the floor was opened for discussion, the speakers touched on many of the key concerns and questions raised by the participants. The event was a great success and the trainees were awarded a certificate at the end of the event.
Many thanks to the lecturers for their outstanding presentations and to the Chinese civil engineering society for the excellent collaboration and organization on site!
